OFFM-QA

The national On-Farm Fibre Measurement-Quality Assurance (OFFM-QA) Program aims to provide users with confidence to use OFFM technologies, systems and measurements. It sets minimum standards for OFFM sampling and measurement systems, ensuring accuracy and precision of fibre measurements for sheep selection and clip preparation.

The OFFM-QA Program is managed by AWEX on behalf of AWI, and is intended to provide assurance and confidence in fleece measurement systems and services to all users of the fleece measurement information, including woolgrowers, sheep breeders, sheep buyers, wool buyers, processors and other down stream customers.

The OFFM-QA program requires that organisations seeking accreditation undertake formal training, meet the requirements of ongoing annual external audits, as well as successfully participate in annual proficiency testing trials. These requirements are designed to ensure instruments and systems produce accurate and consistent fibre measurements.

All woolgrowers are encouraged to use the services of OFFM-QA accredited organisations. The accredited organisations have demonstrated their commitment and ability to providing a quality driven wool measurement service.
